We recently asked Brandon Sorge and Elena Runge, interior designers at our Green Bay and Appleton stores, respectively, to put their own spin on a custom headboard of their choice from our new line. The result? Two gorgeously inspiring bedroom looks that will transition your master suite effortlessly from summer into fall. Keep reading to see how each designer approached this fun project.
Brandon
Brandon Sorge chose our new Cloey Custom Headboard as the foundation for his relaxing bedroom look. He started with the color and texture of the fabric on the headboard, selecting the square design because of its hammered nailhead detail, which he notes adds an interesting aspect to the piece.
Wanting to make a statement, Brandon chose fun accent pieces starting with the Round Boho Mirror. He loves the natural element of the mirror and thought it would be a fun statement piece. He then selected the dark Lois nightstand and dresser because of the high contrast each one offered with the light neutral headboard.
When thinking about other pieces to select, Brandon was drawn to the subtle color and pattern in the Virginia II Wing Chair—it was the perfect way to bring some color and pattern into the space. He found the name of the fabric on the Virginia chair to be inspiring—Equestrian Silver Blue—which led to the bedding and accessories he picked for the space. In thinking about the other elements, he wanted them to feel earthy and traveled.
For the bedding, Brandon chose a light blue duvet, which he finds soft and relaxing for a bedroom, and then added in our midnight shams and coverlet with a subtle textured strip to pull from the Virginia Wing Chair. He finished the bedding by adding in a flax colored pillow and throw. All the necessary elements tie back to the Virginia Wing Chair.
As for the smaller accessory items throughout, Brandon wanted the entire look to feel natural and traveled, so he incorporated vintage books, natural grasses and texture, globes, and a fun bone striped box.
Overall, Brandon says he loves how the look turned out, saying it feels very earthy. The contrast of the case pieces with the bed and chair provide great visual interest in the space while making the bedroom feel comfortable—the perfect place in which you would want to rest after a long day.

Elena
An interior designer at our Appleton store, Elena Runge focused on using natural elements in both the color palette and texture throughout. Using the Hayley Custom Headboard as the foundation for her bedroom look, Elena likes to describe the final result as timeless classic with an eclectic flair.
With a work-from-home solution the reality for so many, Elena paired the warm, natural tones of her bedroom look with an upholstered parsons desk. When it came to accessories, Elena says that natural finishes allow this composition to feel both light and airy along with botanical notes and a touch of humor with the birds.
